Monumental Mid-Century Modern Wall Sculpture Attributed to John Reisetter
Monumental Mid-Century Modern Abstract Wall sculpture attributed to John Reisetter . Reisetter was one of the known sculptors who worked for The famous Curtis Jere Artisan House run by Jerry Fells and Curtis Freiler.
This free form atomic custom made sculpture was designed for the set of The Original Star Trek TV Series between 1966-1969. One of John Reisetters pieces can be seen in Season one episode 15 "The Menagerie-Part 1.
He signed his pieces with a capitol "R". However we cannot find his signature on this piece but the owners say it is his work and the provenance dates back to California when it was purchased in 1975 for $1500.
The piece is made of solid brass but has a patina on it. The spikes extending from it are made of iron and they hold many pieces of blue glass. There are ample welded structures on the back to hang this pieces easily.
It is a stunning piece of art and would complete any Palm Springs Mid Mod Home.

Additions or alterations made to the original: 1 small extension of the sculpture was removed to fit into the store but we still have it if you wanted to weld it back on. It was so long we had no wall space to fit it . It does not detract from its original shape or beauty but the spot is lighter. To own an original Star Trek set design is extremely cool and rare.
